Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Working on an apprenticeship contract in France Students An apprenticeship contract is a limited-term or indefinite-term employment contract between an employee and an employer. It allows the apprentice to follow alternating training in a company under the responsibility of a master apprentice and in a vocational training center. Apprenticeship contracts, which were previously only accessible to foreign students after a one-year stay in France, are now open to newly arrived students enrolled in a Master's degree (a diploma recognized by the State) or in one of the level I diplomas labeled by the Conference of Grandes Écoles, listed in this list. Applications are made through the Études en France platform. Except for these programs, registrations for other programs including an apprenticeship or vocational training contract remain inaccessible to newly arrived students. It is therefore mandatory that these students be enrolled in initial training with a "student" status. Algerian students whose legal situation is governed by the Franco-Algerian agreement of December 27, 1968, amended, remain subject to a temporary work permit, limited to part-time work, i.e., 850 hours per year. The employer of this student is therefore required, upon their arrival in France, to apply for a temporary work permit on the dematerialized service of the Ministry of the Interior Follow the main steps to come and study in France Discover
